Mandaluyong City is in the heart of Metro Manila, bordered by two of Metro Manila’s major business districts. It is a medium-sized community, composed of 27 barangays (districts), with a population of approximately 350,000.

This is where SI Mandaluyong brings its programs and services for the marginalized and successfully implement our projects, thereby generating public awareness for what we do.

Over the years, the local government of Mandaluyong have given their trust and support to our community undertakings, confident that their partnership with our organization enable them to deliver their own services to the people in a more effective and reinforced manner. Accordingly, SI Mandaluyong has been awarded and commended through the years for its various community work.

history

The Soroptimist International of Mandaluyong was founded in August 5, 1994, with the realization that women can voluntarily get together to build a better world in an organized manner. In a community of 27 barangays, most of them being depressed areas, the City of Mandaluyong needed positive role models composed of successful professionals, willing to share their time to improve other people’s lot.

Led by Charter President Perry Reyes, the Club inducted its first batch of officers and members on August 5, 1994.

Now on its 16th year, SI Mandaluyong continues to grow with our members’ commitment and dedication to the mission and vision of Soroptimist. Our sustained strength as an organization is in rendering joyful and meaningful service to our community to improve the lives of women and girls.
